My name is Oscar Velásquez, originally from Huatulco, Oaxaca, México, I spent my childhood and youth in Mazunte, due to the federal government's expropriation that took place in Huatulco to develop the international tourist complex of Bahías de Huatulco. The main economy of Mazunte was the hunting of sea turtles until the government banned this activity in the early 90s. I started working as a volunteer in the protection and conservation of the sea turtle in 1995 and later on moved to the city of Oaxaca, where I lived for 5 years.
I formally started working as a tour guide for travel agencies in 2002. In addition to being fluent in English, Español, Zapotec (the indigenous language of Oaxaca) and some French, I have extensively studied archeology, the history of México, geography, tourism and ethnography, and in 2014 I decided to begin working independently.
With 22 years experience, I can recommend places that are not as crowded as the most popular tours but are just as interesting! I want to make your holiday unforgettable, I put myself at your service.
