Last year we had the distinct pleasure of meeting Oscar tour guide “extraordinaire.”He “made” our vacation. We went on a number of excursions with Oscar and came away from each one with more knowledge and appreciation of the people, culture and beauty of the area. The tours Oscar offered ranged from releasing baby turtles at sunset, a beautiful breakfast and cooking demonstration with an indigenous family,amazing botanical garden, coffee plantation in the mountains, the beach and village where he grew up and a special chance to meet his wonderful 2 young sons. We travelled in an immaculate air conditioned van and each one was affordable and fun. Oscar continues his education in low season to learn more and more of the history and geography of Mexico in order to make his tours the BEST

We are an active family of five and Oscar was the perfect guide for our Huatulco adventure. Oscar’s English is excellent - he is friendly and shares his knowledge, but is not overly talkative. He is a lifelong resident so he has a deep connection to the area, and we felt we were seeing the very best of the Huatulco’s offerings.
Oscar was our own private guide. He was always on time, his vehicles were immaculate and air conditioned, and his driving is excellent. Emails were all answered promptly, there was no ‘surprise pricing’, and his tour suggestions were amazing. Our experiences were authentic and so much fun!
Oscar guided us though boisterous Day of the Dead celebrations in nearby Santa Cruz, then we learned to surf, we snorkeled, and finally we decided to visit the turtle sanctuary and release baby turtles! The kids said it was their best trip ever and a huge part of that credit goes to Oscar.
I was a little hesitant to book initially and thought I would get something though the resort. In the end, the resort quotes were overpriced and I felt I was being “sold”. I was so happy I booked with Oscar – it was an incredible trip and we can’t wait to return!

Our family was staying at a restort in Hualtuco, Mexico. We wanted to do a day trip along the Oaxacan coast and worked with Oscar. As a native and local, Oscar took us to beautiful coastal towns and explained the geographical and historical significance of each area. We learned and experienced so much more by having Oscar as our tour guide. And since our Spanish is limited, it was helpful that Oscar is a fluent English speaker. Oscar and my family have stayed in touch and we most definitely plan to work with him again when we travel back to Mexico.

We initially booked Oscar for a 3-day excursion from Huatulco to Oaxaca but thought we should perhaps meet him first and book a local excursion. Oscar came to meet us with his brand-new 15-passenger van. He was very friendly and knowledgeable. His English and driving skills are excellent. We ended up enjoying Oscar so much we basically booked him for the entire two weeks. Every day, Oscar came up with different suggestions and places to see and combined this with beautiful beaches to explore and snorkel. He was more than accommodating with stopping by the beer store before the trips (and even brought a cooler with ice) and stopping by grocery stores, if we asked. He had awesome contacts wherever we went. We toured beautiful water falls, through remote schools (where we delivered the donations we had brought with us from Canada), toured a coffee plantation, hippy village at the top of the mountains, through historical ruins, markets, small villages, black pottery outlet, rescue turtle rehab, small mezcal production outlet, wonderful restaurants, incredible beaches and even a day long boat trip to different remote beaches. Oscar taught us about the history, language, people, foods, culture and even assisted with negotiating fair prices for our purchases. Oscar made our holiday a wonderful experience. We highly recommend Oscar if you are gong to Huatulco.
